A yoga practice is a chance to connect the dots.
We can connect how the shape of a pose can change the state of the mind.
We can connect that the same poses caneither fortify or deplete us depending on the sequencing of the class.
We can connect how the quality of our breath and the training of our attention can transform a simple forward bend into a way to finally calm the heck down.
This is how yoga works.
We learn to connect the dots.
But sometimes we get distracted.
Instead of connecting the dots we get caught up in the more common practice of collecting the dots.
We work on doing MORE, more poses, more books, more classes, and in our earnest efforts we so busy collecting the dots that we miss out on the alchemy that occurs when we find ways to connect the dots.
