Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver or platinum.

Defined as "to repair with gold", Kintsugi is created with broken pieces of pottery.

Broken pieces don't get thrown away.

Precious metal is added to broken pieces, gold and silver and bronze reinforce what was once shattered.

They don't get given up on, the broken pieces transform because something is added.

Something is integrated.

Not by accident, not by randomness, but with an eye to make something new out of something that is already there.

What was broken becomes fortified.

This is the art of building a yoga practice.
